Health Technology Pipeline (HTP)

New and pipeline drug forecasting so actuaries can make better informed business decisions.

Optum Advisory Health Technology Pipeline (HTP) is a web-based application that integrates clinical and actuarial expertise to develop forecasting models, providing PMPM benchmarks for high-impact novel and pipeline medical and pharmacy drugs. HTP equips payers to make informed coverage decisions and proactively manage financial risks.

Proactively manage new and pipeline therapies

Traditional forecasting methods use historical claims data, which doesn’t help you predict the impact of new therapies. HTP bridges this gap by using clinical expertise and robust data insights to develop actuarial forecasts. These forecasts help project trends and identify therapies for cost and utilization management, covering both commercial and Medicare lines of business for medical and pharmacy drugs.

Customize your forecasts based on demographics, cost and adoption

HTP’s customization tool allows users to tailor modeling assumptions to accurately reflect their membership. Customize based on demographic splits, utilization, adoption, and direct and offsetting costs. You can also customize your view, such as breaking out PMPM impacts by therapeutic category or by IP/OP/PHY/Rx impacts.
